Weekly Zoom bellydance classes for Spring 2021

Spring 2021 dates: Tuesday the 13th of April to Tuesday 18th of May (this course has now started – please email me on firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to join late)
Summer 2021 dates: Tuesday the 8th of June to Tuesday the 13th of July
Times: 6:30pm – 7:30pm Beginners, 7:35pm – 8:35pm Improvers (all times are GMT/London time)
Price: £36 for a 6 week course
How it works: All classes are held live on Zoom. I record a brief video summary of the material covered each week which you will have access to throughout the course, but the classes themselves are not recorded.
The beginners course is suitable for everybody – the classes are designed to be accessible for all ages, body types and fitness levels, and you don’t need any previous dance experience. This Spring we’ll be practising some beautiful basic moves, whilst exploring a selection of Egyptian songs.
In our improvers course this Spring we’ll be exploring Egyptian baladi style – including music, technique, and tools for improvisation. This level is suitable for dancers who’ve been studying Egyptian dance for a year or more, and are comfortable with a good range of basic movements and steps.
These fun and upbeat technique workshops, held on the fourth Saturday of each month from 2-3:30pm UK time, are suitable for improvers (1+ years experience) and above, with optional challenges to keep more experienced dancers on their toes!
Each month we’ll look at a different area of technique in detail, and each workshop includes:
- Warmup and drills
- Technique tune-up
- Combinations to practise your new skills
- Relaxing stretches
