Frock ‘N’ Roll! Taster classes and alternative fashion.

Flyer for the Christmas Frock 'N' Roll event

I’ve been a very busy bellydancer lately, first with Bellydance Trophies and then the OMEDS hafla last Friday (more on that to come in a later post!). The next event in my packed pre-Christmas calendar is the Oxford Frock ‘N’ Roll event on Saturday, organised by Fe-line Women.

This is described as a ‘Fashion Extravaganza’, and with 20 stalls selling all kinds of cool handmade and vintage clothes and accessories, it looks like it will live up to the name!  There will also be activities and workshops throughout the day, including three bellydance taster classes taught by me, and by fellow OMEDS teachers Kay and Lucy.

  • Date: Saturday 8th December
  • Time: 12 – 5pm
  • Venue: Wesley Memorial Church, New Inn Hall St, Oxford
  • Price: £3 entry, or £2 for students

Taster classes

These mini-lessons are a perfect introduction to bellydance for anyone who wants to try it out without committing to a whole term of classes! We will be running three taster sessions throughout the afternoon, in both traditional bellydance and the modern improvised world dance fusion known as American Tribal Style bellydance (ATS).

  • 2.15 to 2.35 – Belly Dance taster with Rasha Nour
  • 3.15 to 3.35 – American Tribal Style taster with Kay
  • 4.15 to 4.35 – Belly Dance taster with Lucy

I hope I’ll get to meet lots of new people this weekend 🙂 if you have any friends who are interested in trying bellydance but who haven’t made it to a class yet, do bring them along. It should be a lovely afternoon for shopping, trying new activities, and also tea and cakes – yummy!
